U15 Tour Okehampton, Devon
31st March - 2nd April 2023
Going on Rugby tour is a fantastic way to build team spirit, morale and identity. It provides an opportunity for players and coaches to get to know each other a little bit better and build teamwork both on and off the pitch. Tours often provide memories and friendships that will last a lifetime; the camaraderie and banter can be second to none!

General information
We are getting closer to our Rugby Tour to Okehampton Devon. Two nights in the YHA( Friday 31st March - Saturday 1st April) followed by a match against Okehampton RFC U15s on Sunday 2nd April. (Kick-off time TBC)
Most players/parents have now confirmed and we are able to add to the numbers if necessary before 10th March.

Travel down in cars to Okehampton after school on Friday 31st March - We currently have 12 adults and 22 players so we will need to organize shared transport

Check into YHA accommodation (5pm-8pm)

Snacks / Drinks etc. Bring something to nibble as we are not eating until 9pm (to ensure everybody has arrived)

We will do something as a group on Friday night; TBC will depend on the weather

9 pm Takeaway meal delivery. There is a shared spreadsheet for ordering the food in the downloads/forms section below. Please peruse the menus and enter a '1' in the appropriate column. No need for drinks as we will purchase some from the cash and carry and take them with us.

Parents to Okehampton for a pub lunch and watch some European rugby on TV? The London Inn is booked for 14:00

Raft building for the boys on Saturday afternoon. Wetsuits are provided but please see the kit list for other requirements.

Kangaroo Court - Judge Dawe has polished his gavel and will don his wig and robes to pass sentence on any misdemeanors or breach of tour rules

There are two locations for YHA Okehampton, we are staying in the Bracken Tor Lodge (not the one next to the station)

Drive into Okehampton - the first set of traffic lights (Wongs Chinese) go straight on (sat nav will probably try to take you left).
The Fountain Inn is on your left. Go straight on through the pedestrian crossing.
The Plume of Feathers pub is on the left - get in the left lane and turn left at the lights into George Street before the White Hart.
Just past the church on left turn right into Station Road.
Where the road forks bear right (don't follow the brown Youth Hostel sign). Keep driving up Tors Road - over the narrow railway bridge, over the A30 main road bridge, and turn immediately right.

Activities are outdoors and we are on Dartmoor so appropriate outdoor clothing required.
For Raft Building - wetsuits are supplied but need swimming shorts/trunks and an extra towel.
Subs / Bench coats would be great to wrap up afterward if you have one, however, the changing rooms are very close.
