In honour of the famous sporting event the inaugural ‘Corsham Bar Snack Olympics’ took place in the clubhouse. Competitors were invited to put forward their favourite snack for judging, with the winning snack, as voted for by the club members, stocked behind the bar for 12 months.
It was an eclectic mix of snacks that included the highly fancied pork scratchings, indigestion inducing scampi fries and the frankly scary pickled eggs with brown sauce.
After a hard-fought contest, Harrison Watts surprisingly exotic ‘Honey roasted cashew nuts’ just edged it, with many wondering how you roast nuts in honey?
Congratulations to all the competitors and thanks to all the judges…..it was a feast that many of us may never fully recover from!
