Jack
Back Row / Centre
Hi my name is Jack,
I have played at Corsham since I was 7 years old. I love Rugby.
The club is great, really friendly and welcoming and our age group is special. We have a mix of boys who have been here for years and boys who have recently just joined.
I have been on three Corsham rugby tours – and they are epic! Although sometimes I think the parents enjoy the tours more than us boys do!!
I live in Corsham but go to school in Bath; in the squad our lads go to a wide and varied group of secondary schools – so you may already know someone! Come along and give it a go!
Charlie
Prop
Hi, I’m Charlie and I’m a Prop. I started playing when I was 6 years old, running round trying not to get tagged, and I’ve not stopped playing since!
In between rugby training sessions on a Wednesday and Sunday I go to the gym twice a week and do Civitas Cross-Fit training on a Saturday morning. I love working out, but my favourite is still playing and training with my mates.
Joining Corsham was the best thing I have ever done, I’ve met some great guys and we have a brilliant time on and off the pitch. Rugby is definitely the best sport in the world, and I’ve made lots of friends playing it. Come down and join us at Corsham Rugby Club, you’ll have a great time.
Aaron
Wing
My name is Aaron – or 'Double AA-Ron' as I get called – and I'm a Winger.
I'm from Melksham and go to school there too. My teacher was the one to encourage me to play rugby to help with my confidence.
I wanted to make new friends away from school and home so Corsham seemed to be the perfect fit.
I officially joined on 4th Feb 2021 but due to lockdown, it was 'Zoom-training' for a bit. Finally, on 31st March I got to meet everyone in person and step on a pitch for the first time.
Even though I was nervous, all the players were amazing. I was made to feel welcome from the start.
I didn't have a clue about rugby and I still don't completely understand it. All I know is, Wednesdays and Sundays are the best days of the week.
Josh
Fly Half
Hi, I'm Josh,
I started playing for Corsham when I was 7, when I just really enjoyed playing tag and running around.
Now I’m playing Fly Half.
I love rugby and my team. It’s great fun and I’ve made some really good friends. It’s a friendly club and we try and get together off the pitch too, so we know each other pretty well.
It’s fun training on a Wednesday night under the floodlights when it’s wet and cold, but one of the best feelings is when you win a match –there aren’t many better feelings actually.
My favourite memories have been the three tours we’ve been on and some of the big wins we’ve had.
Seth
Lock
Hi, my name is Seth a.k.a. 'The Lamp-post.'
I've been playing rugby ever since I was able to throw a ball, but when I was 10 I decided it was time to take my game to the next level, So I joined Corsham. The community of players and coaches made me feel welcome and part of the team instantly.
Now I'm a part of the forwards pack, playing in the second row.
Sunday is my favorite day of the week and will be for many years to come.
Sam
Hooker
Hi! I’m Sam.
I have been playing rugby at Corsham for a couple of years now. When I started I was just playing football and for a while I did both but it made Sundays very busy so I a had to choose and rugby won!
The team is great - some I go to school with but everyone is really friendly. I play hooker and I love it - it’s very exciting.
I am looking forward to playing the new rules this season and to the next tour - the last one was ace.
Troy
Forward
Hi, I’m Troy. I joined Corsham Rugby 2 years ago as a way to meet friends and get fit.
I really enjoy playing rugby and have made some great friends in the team. We are a friendly bunch and have a great time on and off the pitch.
I have grown so much in the last 2 years and am playing as a prop.
My skills have improved thanks to the dedication of the coaches.
I really enjoyed our last tour to Devon and can’t wait for this years one.
Finn
Back
Hello I'm Finz
I started playing sport with the wrong shape ball and now I've realised that rugby is the ultimate game.
For me, there is nothing better than getting the ball and sprinting down the pitch through a gap.
Rugby is a great way to make new friends and create bonds that will last forever.
Joseph
Second Row
Hi, I'm Joseph and play Second Row (5).
I started playing with Corsham as an U6. The coaches have helped and continue to develop all aspects of my game and my confidence as a player.
Outside rugby, I enjoy strength and conditioning in the gym twice a week.
Corsham has a great team of coaches encouraging and developing skills in all areas of the game.
We are a really friendly team, it would be great to see more players come along to join us. Rugby is everything I enjoy, it's the best sport – come and give it a try.

Reuben
Fullback / Wing
Hi, I’m Reuben
I’ve been playing rugby since 2019 and I love it. I play in the backs and really enjoy being part of the team.
Wednesdays and Sundays are the best days of the week as it’s rugby!
I love playing rugby - When I’m not training I top up my fitness by going to the gym with some of the lads which is always fun, and I practice rugby skills with friends who live nearby.
After playing, one of the things I like the most is hanging out at the clubhouse after matches for the best chips in the world and also having a laugh with the lads.
I would encourage anyone to try rugby - it’s the best sport ever.
Alfie
Wherever the team need me!
I am Alfie, ‘The Ford Mustang’ or Fordy.
I first started playing in Corsham at U6s as my brother was playing there. Then I played in Abu Dhabi and then in Cape Town, South Africa as we moved a lot.
Eventually, I came back to England and rejoined the team at U11s and I much prefer playing there and still love it though the weather is nowhere near as nice.
We have a great mix of players. The great thing about rugby is that all shapes, sizes and abilities can join in.
Even though I now live in Bath I would not change playing for Corsham.
The team, coaches and parents are great fun and friendly. I really look forward to Sunday mornings especially if it it a match and I really love my burger or bacon butty afterwards in the club house.
Archie
Forward
Hi, my name is Archie – I'm from Melksham and I go to school in Chippenham. I was introduced to rugby by my school when I was 11 years old and I have loved it ever since.
Following a recommendation from a mate who plays; I joined Corsham in September '21 to expand my circle of friends and improve my playing skills.
The lads are all really supportive and have taken me under their wing. We all encourage each other as a team.
Wednesdays and Sundays are now a huge part of my life and I encourage others to come along and give it a try.

Henry
Outside Centre / Winger
I'm Henry. I first came to Corsham Rugby at the age of 6, but went off to the dark side pretty quickly to play football instead. I realised my mistake eventually and came back to rugby as an U11 and quickly grew to love the game.
I found my feet and was improving fast throughout my first season – both in playing and in my confidence. I was loving the game, being around my friends on and off the pitch and really felt like this was my calling.
Lockdown hit and everything came to a halt. We didn't play rugby for about a year and I found that really hard, but when I got back on the pitch I was miraculously twice my former speed and was able to implement that in my game play.
I love the social aspect of rugby; whether it's on the pitch with friends, training with the coaches or in the changing rooms and club house with everyone, it's great to be around people I have bonds with and I really feel like I have found my tribe.
Recently, I have taken on the role of Outside Centre and occasionally Winger. I love being an Outside Centre because I like working with the rest of the backs to create plays and opportunities. I also enjoy being a Winger: using my speed to run around people and my strength to run through people.
A few months ago I started committing to the gym and I am really enjoying pushing myself and seeing improvements. I train 3 or 4 times a week to build up my strength and stamina.
Rugby changed my life and it could do the same for you.
George
Fullback / Winger
Hello, my name is George.
I started playing rugby for the first time in year 7 and immediately thought it was brilliant. My Mum says that I was always destined to play rugby because I have always loved hurling myself on the floor and rolling in mud!
I play Fullback and like to catch the ball from kicks. I also really enjoy tackling and I feel great when I've chased someone and got a good tackle in. I also get a buzz from scoring the occasional try!
Our team is amazing, we have such good team spirit and work together. The coaches are kind, dedicated, supportive, and encouraging. Previously I played in a local football team and it was the opposite of this, so I was very pleased to find Corsham RFC.
I go to the gym with my friends a couple of times a week and I also regularly watch live sport with my Dad: Aston Villa, Bristol Rovers, Bath City, and when we are lucky enough, American Football. I also support Bath Rugby.
I am at my most happy when we've played a good match and my knees are caked in mud!
